The Secrets Resorts & Spas Air Credit promotion is valid on all new reservations made from March 25 through May 31, 2013 for travel from April 1 through December 22, 2013 at all Secrets Resorts & Spas. Secrets St James Preferred Club was exceptional. The beach, reef off the beach with coral and beautiful fish was awesome, the exceptional locale of Secrets St. James and Secrets Wild Orchid is unbelievable!! Our rooms were not as large at St James compared to Iberostar but we loved, loved, loved, our pool, bars, our private bar and wonderful snacks in the preferred lounge, and we loved the way the location of the restaurants in these two resorts gives one the feeling of being in a village with shops, restaurants, and bars. We loved the very friendly employees of Secrets St. James. A memorable vacation.

The resort is great. i have seen negative reviews on Trip Advisor. Not true. The staff is great. Only issue was checking in. There was no one to help us when we got there. We will send pictures. Tell everyone to go to the rock jetty at the Exellence Club to see at least 50 star fish and stingrays!

We had a wonderful time at Secrets St. James. This was our 4th visit to Jamaica, our 4th visit to an AM resort property and our 10th stay at and all inclusive. The beach (St. James non-preferred) was beautiful, and there was a reef just off past it that had some nice snorkeling. The pools are amazing –figured out the wall under the bridge that many had wondered about…the pools are partially heated!! We never had a problem getting a chair or a floatie either! We spent allot of time these chairs too! Especially in the area near the Marlin Bar. Drink service was wonderful; I have to give a shout out here to Alvin, Donald and Simone. I miss my Chocolate Baby already! Also, Raymond the bartender in the lobby bar is a hoot! Our room was beautiful. We stayed in the preferred club, and had no problems at check in, our flight left Chicago at 8:30 AM and we were at the resort by one. (It was nice that the resort was only 15 minutes from the airport, as we had done the 2 hour bus ride before) Room service was good and usually arrived with in 45 minutes in the morning. Which leads to my first of two little hiccups, one morning the phone were out when we awoke… (6:30 ish)… I went looking for some coffee, and a nice gentleman (I wish I remembered his name) said he would bring some and asked for my room number. Yah right I assumed and went up stairs to wait till 7. Not tem minutes later he was at out door, with coffee…! Overall the food was very good, gained weight!, . Breakfast was room service for almost every day. (We ate at the World Café once for breakfast and once for lunch and it was good!) Lunch was at the beach grills, they had salad, anti-pasta and a limited menu, it was very good (especially the jerk chicken) for dinner we rotated through all of the restaurants (except the Japanese) throughout our stay eating at Bordeaux twice. Drainage is going to be an issue, as when it rains there is standing water all over the place, (they are working in this... ) Also the hallways weren't angled toward the drains, and when it rains (Hard rain) water comes in under the door (second hiccup- water was past the closet one day) Staff placed towels in front of the door (we placed one inside the door and this took care of it) Overall we had a wonderful time and we certainly would recommend this resort –as it is now– and it will only get better with time. We travel at least once a year and will likely continue to stay at Secrets (AM resorts) resort based on our experience here.

Secrets St James/Wild Orchid was great. Food was great and the bars were great as well. The staff was awesome and we would go there again. The only suggestions that I would have would be is with the Chinese restaurant, everything says that there are no reservations, but we wanted to have dinner at the hibachi grill and when we went they told us we had to have reservations. The mini bar in the room was nice but when we asked for rum, we could not get it? It was not what we thought we booked, but enjoyed it. The travel agency was a great help.
