Steve and the entire Berwick team did an excellent job helping us to plan our Viking vacation. Steve and his team were quick to respond to questions from newbie cruisers. Carole helped us plan our honeymoon and she was super helpful and responsive! She was attentive to the kinds of things we wanted to do and provided options that fit. Just got back from a great trip to Punta Cana. I worked with Denise Auletto, told her what we were looking for & she delivered and i definitely(unintentionally)drove her crazy & she didn't miss a beat! The resort was beautiful, our suite was gorgeous and the service was top notch. Denise did a fabulous job with the choices & kept in touch & kept us up to date, made sure we had all of our travel documents to insure no hiccups! Steve booked a trip for my friends and I to El Dorado Royale in Cancun Mexico. It was a beautiful resort and we had the best time. He had all our transportation booked for us and it all went very smoothly. On the last day our flight got cancelled at the airport and Steve handled everything for us. Got us into our resort for an additional night at a discounted rate and set up transportation back to the hotel and then back to the airport for the next day. I came across Berwick Travel completely by accident when looking for a birthday getaway to Mexico.  Originally wanting to escape to a resort we were familiar with, I couldn't find a reservation that suited the occasion.  I contacted Berwick Travel for suggestions and was greeted by Chelsea who had plenty of options and recommendations.  We chose Palafitos Overwater Bungalows and all I can say is they didn't disappoint!  Chelsea handled everything and made sure we were well taken care of! I looked for a Viking Cruise agent in the NEPA region and found Berwick Travel.  Our entire trip was coordinated through emails - very convenient - and Steve suggested the perfect 'starter' cruise -The Rhine River - Basel to Amsterdam with extension in Lake Lucerne, Switzerland.  It was beyond our expectations in so many ways!  Viking takes over the minute you land. Steve helped with making sure everything was set up properly - Air fare plan allowed us to upgrade easily, investigate rooms & layout of ships, details of each day -using MyVIkingJourney - website - that made a 1st time overseas seamless.   I had wondered what made Viking so special and so many so loyal to their cruises and now I know why.  Details, professionalism, highly qualified guides, exceptional ship design, staffing, cleanliness, food, and activities.  They are a 'thinking cruise not a drinking cruise' but with that doesn't mean boring - when you meet up with fellow passengers and enjoy the lounge, bar area and even the 'disco night'.  The passengers were an interesting mix - and there were a wider range of ages than we had expected - it was definitely an educational experience - but not 'lecture style" - each guide had their own expertise, personality and ways to keep the information moving, funny and memorable.
Our room - #308 was on the same floor as the Lounge/bar and Aquavit dining area - the perfect size, location and having a balcony was a nice addition to watching the shorelines through the different regions.
Personally at 65 - it was a perfect honeymoon/anniversary trip. The Alps were unforgettable.  Younger couples may wish for more romance than education - as bookworms we loved that element.
The menus and food were top notch. The daily variety always had a great choice for even the most discerning.  We also decided that the portions were perfect (small by USA standards) but you could enjoy- indulge all the way through desserts because they didn't stuff you with the 1st course.  Light buffets were limited.  Meals were 'scheduled' but not 'fancy' or intimidating - open table style encouraged meeting others.
River cruising is also quiet!  No big waves - smooth sailing - easy to sleep through!
Bottom line - Viking deserves its loyalty and it is a good value especially when you add in all the details that make it successful.

Thank you, Denise for making this trip go as smoothly as possible.  We had a positive and memorable experience starting with our flights and through all the excursion's towns/cities we visited.  The food and service on our boat Tor was excellent, the rooms a little small but all in all a very positive experience.
