AmaMora, the newest ship from river cruise line AmaWaterways, debuted on the Rhine River this week, one of three new builds added to the line’s fleet in 2019.
The vessel, a sister ship to AmaLea and AmaKristina, kicked off its first season from Amsterdam on June 3. It will sail seven-night “Enchanting Rhine” and “Captivating Rhine” itineraries; and then, starting on Nov. 25, it will offer “Christmas Markets on the Rhine” sailings.
AmaMora features 78 staterooms, most of which offer the brand’s twin balconies. The staterooms include some connecting options for multigenerational families. Like many of the line’s other ships, AmaMora will sail with a fleet of bicycles for onshore use, along with a fitness center and walking track on its top deck. It also offers two dining choices: the Main Restaurant and the Chef’s Table Restaurant.
“We are always excited to introduce new ships to our innovative fleet, but this season has been especially rewarding, and significant, for us,” said Rudi Schreiner, president and co-founder of AmaWaterways.
“We’re thrilled to introduce AmaMora to the Rhine River and look forward to continue exceeding our guests’ expectations with a luxurious onboard experience, enriching shore excursions, exquisite dining venues and, of course, the AmaWaterways touch that turns an interesting voyage into an unforgettable personalized experience.”

With AmaMora, AmaWaterways’ fleet now numbers 23 modern ships. This year, AmaMora joins AmaDouro (which debuted on the Douro) and AmaMagna (which debuted on the Danube), both earlier this spring.
AmaWaterways recently announced a new advertising campaign on NBC stations, marking the river cruise line’s entry into the TV ad market. The line will air 15- and 30-second spots on those stations, all narrated by Executive Vice President and Co-Founder Kristin Karst, that showcase the line’s ships and itineraries. AmaWaterways will then expand the ads to stations in Philadelphia, Dallas, and San Diego in 2020.
